Are there rules to this Expansion Team thing?  Because most people don’t know how the real system works.  Since you set no perameters, here is my "Expansion Team":

    C-Dwight Howard

    PF-Dirk

    SF-Lebron

    SG-Durant

    PG-Nash

    what fun.

you wouldn’t be able to get them in an expansion draft becasuse their teams wouldn’t leave them unprotected. You HAVE to choose unprotected players in an expansion draft. But, that would be a great regular team. I don’t have to set perameters because all expansion drafts work the same way

If I remember correctly, current teams will choose a couple to a few of their players NOT to protect. If so….Indiana will protect George (who plays 2, but more of a 3) and Houston will protect Lowry. The same with Jordan in Clipperland. On that note, I will look at Indiana and Houston to see who is  left unprotected as they do have a deep team. Houston may leave Flynn/Lee/Scola or even Martin (high slary) unprotected and to be honest, if Indiana sees George as their future star, they may be tempted to leave Granger unprotected.  And as far as "drafting Anthony Davis, if hes a lock to be a top 3 pick, as an expansion team (assuming you dont play this season) youll be giving the 4th overall pick after the lottery takes place. Expansion team are NOT given a chance to win a top 3 pick. Bobcats was giving the the 4th overall pick but then traded it along with their second rounder to the Clipps for the #2 pick (Okafor).

NBA teams can protect eight players from their roster in expansion drafts. Everybody else is made available to the expansion team. They also get the fourth overall pick in the draft that season.

So there are your basic parameters.

The Raptors have continuity with the return of eight rotation players and they made significant upgrades with their additions.

Last season, the Raptors were rarely out of a game, even against the league’s best teams, and with the roster upgrades, head coach Dwane Casey will be able to build on last year’s program. Here are six core reasons why the Raptors will make the 2012-13 NBA playoffs.

In the past, the Raptors have been known as a poor rebounding team that gave extra shots to their opponents. Under Coach Casey, those days are gone.

Toronto was in a three-way tie for the seventh-most turnovers last season at 15.2 per game, but as they only forced their opposition to turn it over 13.2 times, they had the league’s third-worst differential. Of the 18 players who played for the Raptors last season, the top-five in turnovers per 36 minutes will not be back. Notably, the turnovers from Carter, Bayless, Forbes and Barbosa will no longer be an issue.

“It is fair to say that a whole host of things will dictate whether or not it’s a realistic goal (including) health of players, chemistry, team coming together, and a full training camp where the coach can implement not only the defensive system but the offensive side of the ball as well. We hope that everything we have done from a personnel standpoint and everything that we do from a strategic standpoint is going to put us in a position to compete for the playoffs.”

The Rockets, at least, have some talent on their roster. Overpaid though they may be, Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik are certainly skilled, and there are a surprising number of promising rookies and second-year players on this roster, as well. Head coach Kevin McHale hasn’t done a great job developing his kids, however, and on his way out of Houston, Kyle Lowry insinuated that he wasn’t a particularly adept coach in general. With this hodgepodge of extremely young players under the leadership of a coach who might not be the best guy to make something of it, there’s a possibility that the Rockets end up very, very disappointing next season.

The same articles get written every year about how goofy the voting process is for the Basketball Hall of Fame, and with the imminent inclusion of fan voting somewhere down the road, it’s about to get even goofier.

Notable players not inducted, but who arguably could be in the foreseeable future, include Robert Horry, who won 7 rings with three different teams, Alonzo Mourning, one of the greatest shot-blockers of all-time, and Bernard King, an unstoppable and beloved New York Knick legend.

“We had eight days training camp last year,” Carlisle recalled. “This year we have thirty one; you know one of the byproducts of being one of the Europe teams is you get to start earlier because you have to travel and those kind of things, so we will have thirty one days together before opening night in LA and, you know, the other teams start on Tuesday.”
