Look, Russell Westbrook is a great player and we all know that.  The problem is he likes to score the basketball, which is taking away from from Kevin Durant’s scoring, undeniably the best scorer in the game today.

The problem is that Westbrook’s shot taking is taking away oppertunities for Durant to put the ball in the hole, something the Oklahoma City Thunder definitely do not want to do.  Durant is their guy, Westbrook is there to compliment him.

I just wanted to stir up a debate on whether or not Westbrook will end the season with the Thunder, and if not where you think he will go.

I for one can’t see him staying.  He is loved in OKC, but they want to win right now, and if they want to win they need Durant to produce as much as possible on the offensive side of the ball with James Harden there to compliment his scoring.

In my personal opinion, I think the best option is for OKC to ship Westbrook off to Boston for Rajon Rondo and a future draft pick.  It works out for both teams in most aspects.  Boston gets some much needed scoring and a potential future star while OKC gets a guy who can create offense for Durant and James Harden that Russell Westbrook couldn’t create.  They both also play stellar defense, so that will help out both teams as well.  Rondo is a scrappy player who can really make this OKC squad exceed expectations and possibly push them to an NBA Championship.

So now I’d like to know, do you think Russell Westbrook will be traded?  And if you do, where do you think the young guard will land?

Boston is in trouble, but  can’t see them trading Rondo, the better player, for Russell. Westbrook is not a winner and is too erratic to fit the Celtic mold, ainge wouldn’t do that…he already took enough heat for trading Perkins to OKC, so an OKC destination is out.

I can see Russell to NJ if Dwight doesn’t go there. Then OKC could get Williams and then it would be game over out West. NJ doesn’t care who they get…they’re a bunch of scrubs anyway, minus brooks & humphries, So they’d be more than happy to trade.

Is he the most underrated point guard in the league?

I know he cant shoot. But I saw him guarding Lebron in the post, denying the pass, when no other celtic could do.

Rondo is an elite NBA point guard, NBA teams rate him very high and try to gameplan around what he does and they still can’t stop him, so no he’s not underrated. I have him as a top 3 pg behind CP3 and Dwill.

Rose has better offensive polish but all around Rondo does more intangibles to help his team win games. So if you get in a debate with a chicago native, a teenager, or an azn (no disrespect intended) they will say that Rose is a lot better. But he’s certainly not underrated.

No hes staying put, they’re not gonna trade him because of the fight or because he refuses to play sidekick to KD, only way they trade him is if he refuses to sign extension which they’re working on so no he’s gonna stay a thunder

westbrook wants to be the Franchise player, his Ego is to big to let the Fans go by and saying that OKC is Durants teams, he want OKC to be Durant and Westbrook team,

they would do the Boston-OKC trade maybe this upcoming summer, they want to have a final run with the Big 4 together,

after the Dicline of the big, i dont know if rondo is capable of being a Franchise Player, he is better suited as the Highlighter of the Franchise the player

I dont see the Thunder trading Westbrook away during the season but if they were to make a trade I like the D-Will trade a little more if you can get him to sign an extension. Also it would be a long shot but if he does become avaliable you have to guess Marc Cuban will do every thing he can to get Westbrook.

With that 2009 second-round pick the Spurs drafted DeJuan Blair, who has been a solid pick up for them. The Suns eventually traded Dragic to Houston in a multiplayer deal that brought back Aaron Brooks, but re-signed him this summer to replace his former mentor, Steve Nash.

Spanoulis went back to Greece while Scola went on to establish himself as one of the best power forwards in the game. The second round pick turned into Nando De Colo, who signed with the Spurs this offseason. He’s their only hope to ease the regrets over trading Scola, which made Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich so angry that he said it made him want to spit shortly after.

This offseason, Wizards general manager Ernie Grunfeld discussed the possibility of Evans joining Washington’s front office, but the veteran wasn’t ready to retire and move into the next chapter of his life. The Wizards weren’t interested in bringing back Evans as a player so the two sides parted ways.[089-p90

“In the meantime, I have enjoyed working more closely with Mr. Hunter and the rest of the staff to improve our union and help it to work towards becoming the strongest union in sports,” Evans said. “We are updating our agent regulations, our by-laws and our player programs. We are planning to cut into the deficit that is plaguing our players by way of bankruptcy, divorce, drugs and lack of transitional skills upon leaving game. This is very exciting, especially as the business review winds down and all of the negative energy associated with it is cast aside.”p[io

However, if Evans doesn’t sign another contract, he’s satisfied with everything he has accomplished throughout the course of his career. Not only has he played for seven teams and exceeded everyone’s expectations as an undrafted player, he has emerged as a leader for the league’s players and put himself in position to succeed after his playing career comes to an end.t3wt43

Ever since these new-look Timberwolves showed up in Minneapolis, the talk has been about chemistry and relationships, the intangible things that are supposed to translate and show on the court.

Then, even more recently, there’s been another emphasis on combinations, on getting players together on the court to find their best matchups and positioning.bfsgf

Moments after the game, his cheeks still flushed from his 28 minutes on the court, Kirilenko found the words to capture what the Timberwolves have been talking about all this time. There’s no need to expound any further, really, or to explain why these vague C-words matter – not after Kirilenko waved his hands as if he was conjuring some kind of spell and put it in so few words:’

“Eventually, come November, you’ve got to make decisions on your rotation,” Adelman said. “It’s not going to be written in stone, but you’ve got to make at least an intelligent decision of this seems to be working the best right now.”45345

“I’m really looking for, let’s say, valuable action on the floor,” Kirilenko said. “It doesn’t really matter how many points you score. It’s really not that important. The important thing is how you, let’s say, execute on the floor. How you run. How’s the quality of the game? If you’re playing right, you’re always going to get something.”,khkljh

“The doctors gave me the okay, and I knew it was going to be a struggle at first, and it still is,” Green said. “I’m not at one hundred percent yet. That’s what I’m using the preseason for: to get in shape, to better my game and do things I need to improve on. I still got work to do.”

“Work ethic. Defensive rebounds. Anchor the defense to be the kind of defensive player that helps my team get stops,” Smith said, referring to his strengths as a player. “Right now we’re second in the league in defense, and I want to be the kind of big man who can come in and keep that.

Building something special in Cleveland will require the handful of remaining veterans to sacrifice and play outside of their comfort zone so young players like Tristan Thompson and Zeller can grow. Fortunately for Varejao, he can play both center and power forward and once he gets used to playing at the four spot again, Varejao should be able to provide veteran support to all of the Cavaliers’ young big men.

Waiters really got it going on Friday night, when the Cavaliers took on the Chicago Bulls. He scored 18 points on 7-for-12 shooting and led the team in scoring in the 86-83 win. He then turned in another off night against the Washington Wizards on Saturday, going 2-for-9 in a loss. Still, Waiters’ confidence remains high, and that’s important for a young player.

“What I’ve tried to do, one, from talking to them all throughout training camp, is I’m looking for our team to develop, for our team to have the right kind of chemistry, which is going to help us win,” Smart said. “I used different lineups in camp. I said the goal for us is for our team to succeed more so than any of you individuals. We have to buy into that if we’re going to win, and you guys communicated to me that you want to win, it’s going to take an abundance of sacrifices for our team to have a great, winning season. You guys have to make a decision that that’s the way we’re going and you can handle it. If not, you know where my office is. You can come talk to me and say, ‘Hey Coach, I can’t handle this. Can you and Geoff do something to change my address?’”

Up Close With Andre Iguodala: The Denver Nuggets are widely regarded as the scariest dark horse in the Western Conference. They may just be on the outside looking in on the true contender class that consists of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers, but those teams know that the Nuggets won’t be an easy out. HOOPSWORLD recently caught up with the Nuggets’ newest addition Andre Iguodala. Iguodala’s arrival is one of the main reasons optimism is so high in Denver. We talked to him about his conditioning after a long summer both mentally and physically, how he’s transitioning to being a Nugget and more in this exclusive video interview.
