L.ShapParticipantI beleive they need a point guard, a new starting center and they should draft a good 3-point shooter.
Being more specific, could anyone lay out what their off-season plan should be.0 -

lionsfan133They need to draft James Johnson out of Wake Forest, he’s a good defender and he can shoot… he’s a mix of Nocioni and Prince

gberg23Play Marreese Speights! The dude is so talented at PF and scores a lot for the amount of minutes he gets.

deuce4offSpeights needs to play, they definately don’t need James Johnson they already have Thaddeus Young locked at SF. Playing Speights means trading Brand, something I doubt they will do.

jorrye24Let Andre Miller walk, get Jonny Flynn (if he declares) or Brandon Jennings in the draft. Pick up a center in free agency, probably a backup level one because Speights seems to be a starting center soon (probably next year or at the worst 2010-2011). They should also add 1 or 2 more shooters on the wing because I doubt Rush will be around because he has done a bad job of doing what he came to do,which was spot up shoot.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantI think they need to trade Brand for someone who fits their system. The Sixers like to run the floor and score in transition. Brand is a half-courd set kind of guy. I don’t know how much market there is for him but someone would be willing to take him I’m sure. Maybe draft a true point guard like Miller unless they think Ivy will work out as a backup to Louis Williams. If they could trade up using Brand and get a decent player that is young and fits their fast paced offence and keep their current pick they could draft players that will contribute early. Before they had Brand they were in the playoffs and just a solid PF to push them over the top, and they got one that was just a bad match. Brand is a great player but no the one for the Sixers. They need someone like Amare (but who doesnt) or David Lee to be a great Eastern confrence team and I dont think them getting rid of Brand for a pick and then signing Lee is out of the question. However, I’m sure someone thinks different. Thats my opinion.

L.ShapParticipantLee would be an ideal Big man for them.
I think he would be the perfect pick. I personally wouldn’t mind if all they got for Brand was a second-round pick. As long as he’s gone and his contract. Speights has to start to be truly effective I believe that is very true. They need to realize Dalembert is good and that they shouldn’t trade him. Another Free Agent who would be good may be Varejao. He’s a rebounder and a decent scorer.0 -

KATASTROPHEParticipantMaybe they could draft a player like Cole Aldrich (if he declares) who can run the floor, block shots and rebound.

auberParticipantFirst off Andre Miller needs to walk away from Philadelpha and let lou williams run the show. lou’s proven this season that he’s an NBA starting point guard and with the money the 76ers gave him last season I don’t see why anyone would think otherwise. He’s a young athletic sharp shooting machine whose put up some insane stat lines. He’s going to be a top ten point guard someday and you heard it here first. Next The 76ers need to address any potential offers they can recieve on Elton Brand. I’m not saying the signing was a mistake because of the injury, but Brand is a half court player playing in an uptempo offense with Iguodala, Williams, and Young being the core. Maybe a Tyson Chandler swap could happen and really make things interestering in Philly. Next season We will see the real Thaddeus Young, and not the player Willie Green isnt allowing him to be by eating away at his minutes. He’s got 18-6-3 written all over him at 21 years old. As for the rest of the team They really need to evaluate themselves and decide to focus the offense around either Brand or Iguodala because playing a full court game with a half court star just wasnt cutting it.
