When I think talent, I ofter envision people who possess abilities that they have not fully tapped and are steadily getting control of in order to display for the world. Talent to me also applies to those who have it and haven’t got a chance to show it or had it, but lost or wasted it.

Lets look at PGs in the NBA right now:

There are about 3 good Centers in the league and one just retired lol         all the best PF’s are getting old    there are quite a few good SF/PF (Carmelo, Love, Odom, Blake Griffin, etc).    Too many of our top SG’s are a tad undersized for the position IMO(Ellis, Eric Gordon, Wade, Mayo, Harden, Terry) 6’5 to 6’8 with no sneakers on,    But there are alot of talented Point Guards Old, young, black, white and everything in between.     PG has to be the position with the most talented players

I don’t get it, HeGotGame list Crittenton, Baron Davis, Jordan Farmar, and Rodrique Beaubois under "good pgs" but does not list Rondo?…

If it was top 5 players of their position I think it would have to be the SF position.  The NBA has some really good talent to offer when it comes to the small forward position. 

Potential Top 5 SF: No Order

Luol Deng

Paul Pierce

Rudy Gay

LeBron James

Carmelo Anthony

Danny Granger

Kevin Durant

Now, all of these guys could be put in a top 5 list, so here is mine:

1. LeBron James

3. Carmelo Anthony

Rudy Gay should definitely improve more and Luol Deng is a solid SF to go with because of his consistency and his tendancy to play defense.  So, if it was a top 5 list, I think the Small Forward list beats the other lists.  But if you go depth wise, I think you would have to go with the PG position.  It seems as if almost every team has a solid starter or backup PG.

Come on Bruh….I know better than that. And I forgot Rondo because I was kinda rushing the list. Rondo is one of my favorite players in the whole NBA. He is in my top 10 PG list.

Yeah it’s probably PG, but SF and PF are also laden with talent and depth and are right behind. I’d say SG and C are the weakest positions at the moment.

SF: Rudy Gay, Lebron, Pierce, Granger, Deng, Beasley, Durant, Carmelo, Iguodala, Prince, Wallace, Batum, Gallinari.

PF: Garnett, Griffin, STAT, Z-Bo, Nowitzki, Bosh, Love, Aldridge, Duncan, Bargnani, Boozer, J-Smoove/Horford, Scola, David West, Ibaka, Gasol, Cousins (played a lot of 4 next to Dalembert).

I think in five years we’ll be calling SF the strongest position, with Miller, Gilchrist, Barnes, Jabari Parker, Adonis Thomas, LeBryan Nash all coming through who have the potential to be great players. 

I just don’t see that depth of talent coming through at the C or SG position, and I feel like the well has run dry on outstanding PGs relative to the number of SFs coming through.
