Upset over the public nature of their trade talks, the Nuggets threatened the Nets on Monday with the possibility of trading Carmelo Anthony to the Knicks.
Denver made the threat to put pressure on New Jersey, according to a source.
A source told Yahoo! Sports that a three-team deal was "really close" on Sunday, but the talks went underground on Monday following Denver’s treat.
It is known that the Nuggets are now trying to get the Nets to take on Al Harrington, who has four years and $28 million left on his contract.

I think that at the end of the day as much as i hate to see it happen, Carmelo Anthony will become a Net. Even with this though i still dont think that he would sign until he sees the team making progress in the wins column. Yes,I do think that the Nets would be so desperate to get a superstar as to give up so many young talents as their team has been the laughingstock of the N.B.A for the past few years. If this does not happen i think that Denver will not grant his wish and would hold unto him for the rest of the season as it is apparent that any offer the Knicks throw their way do not spark any peculiar interest. The knicks do not want to part with chandler and fields as Denver would surely demand for so I say that we should sign Melo in free agency if the rumors are correct and he does want to come to NY. If we fail to acguire him we can still go after iggy and a good and fundamentally sound defensive center who can play good defense.
