OhCanada-ParticipantI’ll start off with the Raptors.
So as it stands as we discussed in a previous thread Toronto can either renounce Lowry’s contract which will clear up a bit more than $20 mil in cap space or they can resign him and keep him/use him in a sign and trade.
Ideally in my “everything goes perfect” scenario you would have them acquire Allen, Portis or Holmes and Lonzo Ball while losing Trent Jr. and Lowry. Not sure how they would make it happen. Most likely they just resign Lowry and Trent Jr. and then offer the MLE to Khem Birch, Zach Collins or Kelly Olynyk.
They could also renounce Lowry’s contract, sign Allen, Portis or Holmes and resign Trent. Jr rolling with him and OG at SG. I don’t think Gary fits this team well though.
RUN IT BACK
I wouldn’t be opposed to resigning Lowry however it creates an issue as we would have no money to address the Center position.AVAILABLE CENTERS
Jarrett Allen – I’m pretty sure the Cavs will match any offer he gets so in my opinion he is off the table
Bobby Portis – Bucks can only offer him $6 mil so he’s gone. I think he could get anywhere from $15 to $20 mil and consider him a prime option if Toronto lets go of Lowry.
Richaun Holmes- He should get anywhere from $15-$20 mil and Kings only have Early Bird right. He’s probably dying to get out of Sacramento. I would not be upset with this signing.
Kelly Olynyk- He would probably accept a MLE and fits perfect as a stretch C along with Boucher and Barnes as small ball bigs to round out the position.
Khem Birch- He played well for us.
SLEEPERS
Zach Collins – This was supposed to be his breakout year. Theres interest reportedly.
Tony Bradley – He played very well for the 76ers in limited minutes. He is a restricted free agent and OKC will probably just match anything reasonable but I think he is worth a gamble as a rotation big.
Reggie Perry – Brooklyn probably won’t want to match any offer for Perry as they should be deep into luxary tax. Although he showed alot of potential so it would not surprise me if they did.LOWRY SIGN AND TRADE – Heres some of the alternative options in a sign and trade from the teams rumored to be interested.
PELICANS- In theory they could work out a sign and trade for Lonzo Ball which would clear up his cap hold and allow them to also target Demar Derozan. Not sure if this works for the Pelicans CBA wise though I think Ball should be the number one target for Toronto.
HEAT- With Nunn and Robinson as RFA’s Toronto would have options making a deal around one of those two also including Achiuwa. I would prefer Nunn. I think he can be a 1st option if designated in that role.
MAVS- There have been reports that the Mavs are interested in acquiring Lowry. I would assume this would be a sign and trade for Porzingis, I don’t see any other way it works.GARY TRENT Jr. SIGN AND TRADE- In a scenario where Toronto signs Lonzo Ball/Kendrick Nunn with cap space or by using Lowry as a trade partner they would need to use Trent Jr. as an asset to acquire a Center. Although I don’t see this happening as their are too many teams interested in signing him outright. I don’t think you can trade him to the team he wants to be at and find a perfect return.
SIAKAM TRADE- I think this is all media smoke. Don’t see him being moved.
PORTLAND- CJ Mccollum. Smart move for Portland.
GOLDEN STATE- Wiggins + some. What else would Masai squeeze out of them?1+ -

OhCanada-ParticipantTheres also rumors about Simmons but we got nothing for the 76ers/division rivals that somebody else can’t offer.

armchairgmParticipantIt is nearly impossible for Raptors to get Jarrett Allen unless they work out a sign and trade with Cleveland let alone getting him and Lonzo Ball. Both players would have to be got with a sign and trade, which hard caps Raptors at 143mil which means they wouldn’t be able to retain a lot of their Bird Right guys. Allen and/or Ball would cost Raptors
Lowry
combo of VanVleet/OG
or Siakam.
You are saying you rather have Jarrett Allen over Siakam? Jarrett Allen over Lowry? Jarrett Allen over VanVleet and OG?. Or same question with Lonzo Ball inserted for Allen.0-

OhCanada-ParticipantWell I actually said Allen isn’t an option. Ball is an option though. We could renounce Lowry’s contract and offer him $20 mil. Or sign and trade for Lowry.

armchairgmParticipantI think Raptors offseason will look like:
-try and trade Kyle Lowry and picks for a younger PG like Ben Simmons (don’t think this gets done Sixers will want more than Raptors are willing to give), Lonzo Ball. I don’t think Lowry comes back. If he leaves as a free agent without working out a sign and trade I think Raptors pivot to Spencer Dinwiddie or Dennis Schroder.
-resign Gary Trent Jr (If they lose Lowry as a free agent without signing and trading him I think this lessens likely hood they bring back Gary Trent Jr because they will want to free all the cap space they can to go after a free agent.)
-Maybe see what they could get for Pascal Siakam now that they have Scottie Barnes. See if a bigger deal based around Siakam picks and other players could land them a star like Bradley Beal or straight up for CJ McCollum, Jarrett Allen.
-try and add a center for with MLE like Nerlens Noel, Richaun Holmes
-try and add a center for minimum like Zach Collins1+-

OhCanada-ParticipantI think nothing happens. Lowry resigns, Trent Jr. resigns and we use the MLE’s to sign some bigs like Zach Collins, Khem Birch, Kelly Olynyk, Nerlens Noel. Thats my expectation tbh.

armchairgmParticipantMy favorite team the Lakers won’t be doing anything, but getting ring chasing vets at this point.
I think these guys leave as free agents: Dennis Schroder (Some think he could be used in a sign and trade to still land Lakers Buddy Hield, but I think the Hield stuff is dead now and I just see Schroder walking.), Andre Drummond, Ben McLemore, Kostas Antetokounmpo (already signed overseas), Devontae Cacok (possiby plays on G League team, but I don’t think Lakers give him a real contract and they already took and used his two way spot.)
-I think they re-sign: Alex Caruso, Talen Horton Tucker, Wes Matthews, Markieff Morris, Jared Dudley
-I think Marc Gasol may retire from NBA and go play with Pau in Spain.
-MLE look at someone like: Demar Derozan, Otto Porter, Patty Mills, Alec Burks, Reggie Bullock, Danny Green, Nicolas Batum, Doug McDermott.
-Minimum look at guys like: Carmelo Anthony, Rudy Gay, Wayne Ellington, Trevor Ariza, Andre Iguodala, Dwight Howard, Jeff Green, Goran Dragic, JJ Redick, Torrey Craig, Garrett Temple, Javale McGee, Giorgi Dieng, Luke Kornet, Dewayne Dedmon, Avery Bradley, JJ Redick, Lou Williams, Kent Bazemore, Austin Rivers, Tyler Johnson, Mo Harkless, Justise Winslow2+-

ZouldiersParticipantAs a Heat Fan, I don’t know what the hell they’re about to do this offseason lol and that may be a good thing. At least we get a haul of undrafted prospects such as AJ Lawson, RJ Nembhard, Marcus Garrett, Jarreau, DJ Stewart, and Micah Potter so at least one of them will get signed to a two-way or even a standard contract. I’ll get my popcorn ready lol

armchairgmParticipantLooks like Dragic and Lowry swap in the works.
My predictions for Lakers opening day roster:
Bigs- Anthony Davis, Dwight Howard, Marc Gasol, Markieff Morris
Combo Forwards- Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, Jared Dudley, Alfonzo McKinnie
Wings- Wayne Ellington, Wesley Matthews
Combo Guards- Talen Horton Tucker, Alex Caruso, Austin Reaves, Joel Ayayi
PG: Russell Westbrook, Patty Mills

OhCanada-ParticipantIts gonna look like.
Lowry to Miami
Dragic to Dallas
$19.5 mil Trade Exception to TorontoToronto gets rid of Lowry’s cap hold and gets a 19.5 mil trade exception from Dallas which would allow us to “target” two decent players out of these pools Ball, Dinwiddie, Nunn and Allen, Portis, Holmes while still being able to match an offer given to Trent Jr.
Dallas gets fellow Slovenian to go along with Doncic. They already hire Igor Kokoskov the guy that coached that Slovenia team that won with Luka and Goran.
Miami gets hall of fame Kyle Lowry, and also in play for Demar?

HitsterParticipantHeat haven’t taken up option on Iggy so Pat Riley is looking at making moves. I can see Iggy possibly going to Lakers to be a bench option if he decides to play on.
I like Oh Canada’s sign and trade idea above to get the Raptors a nice exception they can use. I don’t see Cleveland moving Jarrett Allen despite drating Mobley unless Allen demands unrealistic money and then they would do and S and T at minimum.
The Wizards gotyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Montrezl Harrell in Westbrook trade with Harrell only having a year to tun on his deal. I could see a number of teams looking at him as his salary is cap friendly.
I expect Kawhi and CP3 to stay put. Mike Conley wants to be on a contender so staying in Utah makes sense too. DeRozan is the guy who could really go to a number of locations and I think the Knicks are going to be very active as they have the most vap space. But I wouldn’t expect them to make a blockbuster move as they will take shorter term guys to leave flexibility for future stronger FA markets unless Kawhi or CP3 decide to grace MSG.1+

sniperParticipantFor the Spurs, I don’t really expect any championships in the next few years so I would just like to retain our identity while slowly getting better. More than anything I just want them to 1. Assure Becky that she is the head coach in waiting, and 2) Bring back the heart & soul of the team, Patty Mills. Although if he is set on joining a contender while he can still contribute at a high level, I wouldn’t begrudge him that.
Beyond that, pay, pay and pay some more for John Collins. Grossly overpay him. 2) If we can’t get Collins, I like Olynyk, Theis or Zach Collins, although I have only vague memories of Zach Collins playing basketball. Seems like it’s been years. I think Theis is better than Markkanen. Don’t want Oubre at all. In a year from now, one or both of Walker and Vassell will be better than Oubre.
Try to get something for DeMar. Not equal value, just something. If the Clippers would send Beverley and Kennard for him, we could use Kennard and flip Bev’s expiring contract to a contender.

festar35ParticipantI’ll keep it simple for Indiana.
#1. Re-sign TJ McConnell
#2. Try trade Jeremy Lamb to re-sign Doug McDermott, which I think we fail to do & sign a lesser 3/4 guy to round the roster. That will be about it, I think we are banking on Carlisle & a healthy roster to be much improved from that dumpster fire we just saw.

OhCanada-ParticipantPacers are in a real bind in my opinion. Their real issue is their biggest strength. That frontcourt. Sabonis defense and Turners rebounding and little injuries here and there. If you trade Turner your defense is the worst in the league. If you trade Sabonis you have to ride Turner and he becomes more prone to injury and Indiana.

HitsterParticipantThe Pacers are a bit at the crossroads – post PG13 they made the play offs for the next 3 seasons but didn’t get out of first round and haven’t done so since 2014. They didn’t make the play offs last season so do they look to rip it up and tank and rebuild that way or try to make good moves and build around Sabonis who is now a duel All Star?
It would be fun if the Pacers went into rebuild and Kevin Pritchard started making trades and getting picks to play with as his draft day moves with the Blazers were always fun to guess.
