Even better news he’s finally parted ways with TNT. Thank god. I respect him as a player may possibly be the most underrated player alltime with how long it took them to put him in the Hall but his play by play announcing literally had me changing the channel.

the reason why it took so long for him to get elected into the hall wasnt becuz he didnt have the accomplishments or stats..i think i it had to do with him being indicted for lying to a grand jury about his involvement with a booster…..naismith didnt want to be associated with someone involved in tainting the game of basketball..true he was a terrible as an analyst, but that time as a part of the media gave him a chance to get up close with those that vote ..and its been almost 20 yrs since those charges were handed out,its no longer on the minds of those that have votes…

lead his college team to back 2 back college finals
high school to 3 straight championships.

5 time all NBA performer at that time at that position is nothing to just scoff at. Garnett, Duncan, Barkley, Nowitzki, Gasol and Kemp all played during Webbers All NBA runs and looking back at it now quantifying achievements he maybe considered bottom of that list as for as an informal ranking but when they were all playing everyone knew he was just as good as any of those guys. That Sacramento offense was extremely pass heavy as well and kept running into a Lakers team that was extremely talented and favored by the league and an insane Spurs team. Webber in his prime at Sacramento was arguably the best PF in the league along with Garnett and Duncan. It was literally a toss up and Duncan got the nod because the Spurs won.

To me Ben Wallace had a much more impactful career. Webber’s career was kind of like LaMarcus Aldridge’s — very good numbers but mostly on average teams, and the few times he played on a contending team, he tended to fade in the playoffs.

But then there’s his college years with the Fab Five, it’s hard to overstate how big of a deal they were to the whole culture of hoops in America.

C-Webb was always a star whilst Big Ben had to work extra hard to achieve his success. Big Ben was a defensive freak and ironically C-Webb replaced Big Ben indirectly at the Pistons when Ben had gone to the Bulls.

Talking of Aldridge I think his near 20,000 point career, 7 All Star games and 5 All NBA nods will get him into the HOF in due course.
