Toronto isn’t trading Lowry for a prospect. Thats ridiculous and insulting.
Heres the elements to the Toronto pick.
-African- Ujiri is all about Africa and from Nigeria
-Upside
-Defending multiple positions
-Shooting potential – Every player that gets minutes on Toronto has too be able to space the floor.
-Experience -Its not as much a requirement as it just is not a deterrent. Ujiri does not mind drafting older players.
C- Daniel Oturu – Nigeria
C-Zeke Nnaji- Nigeria
PG- Abdoulaye N’doye – Senegal (6’7 with 7’2 wingspan) 4 year pro in French 1st league. Typical Ujiri pick.
PG – Karim Mane – Senegal
I think the plan is to draft Oturu or Nnaji to replace Gasol immediately next year. If they aren’t available I really hope they look elsewhere at the C position but I don’t think they will pass up on N’doye’s size and wingspan at PG as they love versatile defenders. And hes very much African.
