Let’s face it……. the Aaron Gordon era in Orlando needs to end. I feel in the right environment he could have a more successful 2nd half of his career. But it won’t happen with the Magic.

What are some possible trade ideas you all feel would benefit Gordon & the Magic long term?

My opinion, Orlando needs someone at either the 2 or 3 that can shoot & create. Period. Preferably on a rookie deal that has a similar timeline to Fultz, Bamba, Okeke (who I like quite a bit) and Isaac.

Tough to gauge the market for Aaron Gordon cause he peaked scoring wise 2 years ago, shot only 30% from 3 in 48 games so far this year. He still can get better but his growth has been halted with Orlando. There are a few ideas I would like to see.

Aaron Gordon for Kyle Anderson and Tyus Jones – Ja gets a very athletic wing to run with in Gordon and Orlando gets an upgrade in passing and creativity with a solid point guard and point forward.

Aaron Gordon for EITHER Sexton or Garland + Larry Nance Jr. – The cavs are a mess and seem like they are primed to make a terrible decision soon regarding their back court of two young shoot 1st point guards who hate passing and don’t fit with one other. If Orlando could steal either 1 of them, that would be great. Even if they can’t get Sexton or Garland, Windler and Porter are still intriguing prospects and there might be a deal to be made.

To Denver for Gary Harris, Monte Morris
To OKC for Dennis Schroder, Terrence Ferguson
To Phoenix for Kelly Oubre and Ty Jerome

Why? Because he isn’t quite as good as you hoped you need to ship him out as some kinda punishment/statement for the mild under performance? What is wrong with keeping a good rotation player, I don’t see the NEED for it to end. Sure trade him for a good trade yea.

Good lord what a terrible trade, neither Anderson or Jones can shoot or score. They are low end rotation players on a good team – Gordon is still a legit starter on a championship team.

Problem is Magic have been stuck at that 8th seed and can’t get above .500 and for the last three years Gordon has shown no improvement. Meanwhile Jonathan Isaac has proven he has defensive player of the year type potential and the two don’t really play well together share similar roles.

Personally i would trade Vucevic rather than Gordon and i would give Bamba 30min a game, i would also have Fultz coming off the bench and i’d use Fournier and Gordon as primary ball handlers.

I think they should trade Vucevic too. It’s time to let their young nucleus grow together (Bamba, Fultz, Isaac, Okeke). Who cares if they don’t make the playoffs next season……. this team’s ceiling is a 7-8 seed, and it’s time to move on past this era. I think there are a few teams that would be interested in Vucevic (Celtics, Hornets, Wizards, Clippers, Kings, Mavs), and all I’d be looking for in return would be veteran bench help or a decent SG // wing. Vucevic is a good player, but he’s in the wrong era to be the centerpiece of a team. Is he a skilled offensive player? Yes. He can post, he can hit an open 3, and he’s a pretty good passer. But he hates any kind of contact around the rim, on both sides of the ball. Even though he has a huge wingspan (7’4) he doesn’t use it to block shots on the help side or man-to-man. He needs to be a 3rd-4th option on a good team, period. Most GM’s are smart enough to know this……. which drives down his value.

Centers just can’t be 1st options in the NBA today. Way too easy to take out of the game if you have no guard skills. Look at what Toronto did to Vucevic/Embiid last year.

Not traditional Centers but yes Point-Centers which are the next step in basketball evolution with Giannis and Jokic leading the way.

I think there are 4 good and reasonable options to trade Vucevic: Denver, SAC, Toronto and Spurs.
. Denver has Millsap and Plumlee finishing contracts this summer and that’s 45mill. so even if Millsap stays for much less money Vucevic would really upgrade that team and would perfectly match with Jokic as both can play inside&out and both can pass and shoot the ball; ORL could just ask for Gary Harris and it would also be great a sign and trade with Jerami Grant whom would look scary next to Isaac and Bamba…
. SAC doesn’t have a C locked for the next few year as they only have Holmes with 1 year left and they also have Bogdanovic finishing contract this summer and he’ll ask for 20+ Mill. so they will probably have to choose between him and Hield, so a swap could happen here between Vucevic and Hield/Bogdanovic.
. TOR has Gasol and Ibaka finishing contracts this summer and that’s 50mill. and it looks like Gasol will probably leave and we’ll see what happens with Ibaka so Vucevic could fit well here especially because TOR love international players.
. Spurs have Aldridge and DeRozan with 1 year left and looks like both of them could leave looking for a final chance to get a ring so Vucevic could fill that gap in a franchise that also love international players.

To the Spurs for DeRozan. Spurs will take some of the Magic’s junk to make the salaries work.
If you don’t like what the Magic look like with DeRozan, it’s only for one year. But Fultz/Fournier/DeRozan/Isaac/Vucevic sounds like a hard team to defend.
