    Best: Chet Walker (1962)
By far the best player ever selected at 12 was Julius Erving, by Milwaukee in 1972. However, it isn’t fair to include him in this category because he remained in the NBA for 4 more seasons and never played for the Bucks. However, the thought of pairing a young Kareem with a young Dr. J and Oscar Robertson would have been terrifying.
“Chet the Jet” was the next best pick here. He was an incredibly consistent and durable forward who played for 13 seasons in the 60’s and 70’s, making 7 all-star appearances and eventually the Hall of Fame.
Other contenders: Mookie Blaylock (1989) Kelly Tripuka (1981) Jim Paxson (1979) Cedric Maxwell (1977)

    Worst: Aleksandar Radojevic (1999)
At 7-3, Radojevic was an extremely intriguing prospect, but injuries and a lack of playing time kept his career from ever getting started. His entire career consisted of just 15 games over parts of 3 NBA seasons.
Other contenders: Kenny Green (1985) Alec Kessler (1990) Yaroslav Korolev (2005)

Best: I’m just gonna go with Erving as he is the best player picked at 12 and it’s not really close.

Worst: Korolev-picked right after Vasquez, this pick wasn’t much better. Only played 1 year and they could have gotten guys like Granger or Gerald Green.
Green in 1985 with Karl Malone as the next pick and Swift in 2004 with Big Al still on the board are also pretty bad.
