    Best: Steph Curry (2009)
Curry didn’t exactly come out of nowhere in 2009, but there were several question marks about how his game would translate to the next level. Eleven years later, he has completely revolutionized the game of basketball and will go down as the greatest shooter in history.
Other contenders: John Havlicek (1962) Bernard King (1977) Chris Mullin (1985)

    Worst: Bobby Hurley (1993)
There are tragic circumstances behind this one. Hurley had a legendary college career and received comparisons to John Stockton. The Kings believed they had found their point guard of the future when they selected him. He was involved in a near fatal car crash about a month into his rookie season. The fact that he was able to make it back to the league in less than a year is remarkable and shows just how strong his determination was. However, the crash basically ended any chance he had of living up to his potential, and his career was short. The next 4 picks after Hurley were Vin Baker, Rodney Rogers, Lindsey Hunter, and Allan Houston, all of whom had long and successful careers.
Other Contenders: Ben McLemore (2013) Bismack Biyombo (2011) Eddie Griffin (2001) Tim Perry (1988)

Best: Gotta go with Curry. He wasn’t a sure thing being a big time scorer from a small school (those guys don’t always pan out). Turned out to be one of the best from his class and he changed how teams play basketball in the NBA now with emphasis on shooting.

Worst: There’s been some bad players taken at #7. O’Bryant in 2006 is probably one of the worst recent picks. Knox over SGA and both Bridges could become one of the worst as years progress. But I’m going to go old school with Bon Salle in 1957. Never played a game and the next pick was the great Sam Jones.

I made a mistake when talking about Knox and O’Bryant. That was pick #9. My notes are a little messy, my bad!
