bt102ParticipantThere are a few prospects that just appear in a lot of different places, so how do you guys feel about them.
Nico Mannion: He appears a soon as picks hit double digits but mocks have him anywhere from lottery to end of the end of the first round. I currently have him at #17 to BostonVernon Carey Jr. : I get he was a monster in college. The comparisons to Jahlil Okafor are understandable. Jahlil was unbelievable in college too. It seems like Carey can actually shoot though, so I really don’t know how to evualate have him. Currently have him at #26 to Boston
Tyrese Maxey: It seems like some people are really high on him, while others are a lot lower. I know its pretty unlikely he is a top 10 pick but even still. He still appears there in mocks some times. I currenty have him #12 to Sacramento
I know there are others, like Saddiq Bey, Patrick Williams etc.. but these 3 in paticular stand out.

RUDEBOY-ParticipantMannion grew up around the game, his dad Pace spent 6 seasons in the NBA before finishing his career overseas.Nico has a great feel for the game.A Scrappy player, decent athlete(41 inch vertical) high Iq ,has the ability to create plays for himself and teammates. I rate him 2nd only to Ball as the best playmaker in the draft. He could be a better pro than college player. Carey reminds me of Domanas Sabonis. I say his range is 9 to 20. Maxey could be this year’s version of Coby White a dynamic scorer, but hàving yet displayed the ability to be a lead guard. Remember his hot streak earlier in the season causing some to place him top 5 lottery? 7 to 15 could be his range. Patrick Williams might be 1 of the best prospects from this draft in a couple of years. He’s capable of playing both forward spots and sg. Aaron Nesmith & Isaac Okoro have specific skills that r translatable. So I see why alot of people r high on them. But I wouldn’t take them top 10. Corey Kiespert of Gonzaga , Tyrell Terry r 2 sleepers.

bt102ParticipantYeah, I wouldn’t take Nesmith that high, but Okoro, I think he is going to go in the top 10, even though I like other players lower down more than him. Yeah, I forgot to mention Tyrell Terry too. I think he could be a steal, but he seems to have the same vibe as Jalen Lecque.

OhCanada-ParticipantNico Mannion shows all the signs of a complete offensive point guard. He can score and playmake very well and one thing Arizona doesn’t let its guards do is show off creativity which he has tons of. He needs to get a bit stronger though to deal with some of these physical NBA guards. I’d say he’s a top 10 pick with a slight chance of going late lottery because this draft has alot of good PG’s. Currently 10th in my mock.
Vernon Carey Jr I think is a sure thing. His poise and decision making reminds me of Al Horford or Marc Gasol. He’s an underrated athlete and has proved he can move his feet. Okafor’s problem wasn’t that he was “too slow”. His problem was he was not even willing to try on defense and his weight/conditioning got out of control then everything just spiraled with his confidence. I think he’s one of the best players in this draft but I see some people saying he could go as late as 2nd round so what do I know. Currently have him 11th in my mock.
Tyrese Maxey is underrated to me. I dont see one elite skill from him that is translatable at the next level. He has a great scorers instinct/mentality but I just feel like theres better options in the 1st round. I have him going 26th overall but he will probably go higher than thatl.

BothTeamsPlayedHard-ParticipantMannion did not strike me as being an especially good prospect. His numbers in the aggregate look fine, but laid a lot of eggs against the big conference opponents. He has a good looking shot, but it didn’t fall all that often. He didn’t seem especially quick with the ball or remotely competent defensively. If he didn’t enter the season as a top 10 prospect, his play would have never justified the belief that he is a first round pick.
I like Carey, but have my doubt as to whether he is big enough to play the way he did at Duke in the NBA though Okafor’s problem was that he checked out while being in a uniquely bad spot and got out of shape. By the time he got his head in the game, nobody was invested in him anymore. Applying that to someone else isn’t really fair.
Tyrese Maxey seems like a bit of a poor man’s Marcus Smart, which is both a compliment and a cause of concern. If Maxey cannot be that kind of dogged defender, and doesn’t have the same ability to run the point, then will a team stick with him through the years of clanks Boston did with Smart (and even now Smart isn’t a great shooter)?
I am a believer in Saddiq Bey. With both him and Obi Toppin, people seem to be holding their hs resumes against them as if being a physically late bloomer (Bey was a 5’9 freshman in high school and has grown a few inches per year to make it a foot since and Toppin was a 6’2 junior in high school who is 6’8 or 6’9 now with added muscle) means anything for assessing their present and projecting their future. In this draft, these are lottery pick talents, and closer to the top than bottom. Bey checks all the boxes for a wing. He is tall with extra length, can shoot it from anywhere, can handle the ball and create, and has been well coached at a program whose players have been outperforming their draft positioning.
Patrick Williams has the physical makeup of an NBA player, but is far from a sure thing. Then again, he figures to be a safer bet than Isaac Okoro, because he has better size and projects as a lower pick.
