    Lamelo that’s expected, but……..

Is it gonna be Okungwu? Toppin? if they fall? Edwards obviously #1 if they get it, or will they trade it?…..

A team, especially a team with the ambition to win next year, isn’t drafting Deni to start right away. A large chunk of his minutes this year are a result of an Israeli league rule mandating an Israeli player be on the floor at all times. That rule is not in place in the Euroleague, so we have a grasp of where his coach views him as being right now. Yes, he got a few more minutes before the Euroleague shut down, but the idea that they would view Wiggins as being someone who would block Deni in year one or probably two seems off. I do not doubt there will be teams who view Deni as a top 5 prospect, but this is not really a draft where you will see very many rookie starters next season, and some who will won’t be lottery picks.

The downside of drafting a prospect based on potential. Waiting 3-4 years hoping he shows flashes of greatness only to be disappointed in the end. Hopefully he ends up becoming decent though.

Smokescreen or the guy just doesnt know what he’s talking about. Warriors pick Wiseman.

I actually don’t think thats happening. Even though the center position is a need, Wiseman never showed an ability to shoot at Memphis. And while he gets block numbers, I’m not sure Golden State cares that much. Okungwu or Toppin would make more sense if they go with the C position. But either way, its believable they like Avdija. Draymond isn’t who he was. Avdija could replace him or Wiggins in the long term.

I mean I guess I could see them picking Obi Toppin. Dayton ran a very similar offense to Golden States and he proved he plays that pick and pop 5 perfectly. Avdija just doesnt make sense to me.

He doesn’t. That’s what confuses me. He is shooting 33% percent from 3. But 52% from the line??? I really don’t know how much better its gonna get from there. Maybe they think they can get a Center in FA. Unless they think Chriss is it, which I highly doubt. Either way, this draft is a crapshoot, so if they think Avidija is their guy, then so be it.

It’s the first pick. You usually don’t worry about fit with the first pick. You take the best player available. Probably the same train of thought for the first 5 picks. If they think Deni will be better than Ball or Wiseman, than they should take him over them (not saying I agree with them). Sounds like they still have Edwards as their #1 though, which I think most teams do.
