dmo21ParticipantAs things are slow and the world is a mess, I thought we could do some fun activities (I’m at home, bored as heck). So my idea is to make up a team for each team of the best singular seasons by certain players (will make more sense once we start doing it). There will be 8 players per team and the positions are dictated by what basketball-reference.com said they were playing at for that year. Positions are: PG, SG, SF, PF, C, PG2, Wing (SG or SF), and big (PF or C). So consider stats, defense and playing style when forming your teams. I’m planning to do a post per team, starting with the Celtics (most winning team in history) and then moving down the list. When you choose your players for that team, those will count as “votes”. Once the post has been open for a week or so, I’ll tally them up and see what we come up with for the All-Time Team for that organization.
I’ll post my picks for my all-Boston team in a follow up post. To keep it simple, just do what I do but with your updated choices.
Hopefully we get a lot of involvement and can pit them against each other after all teams are picked.

dmo21ParticipantSo using this site: https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/BOS/ I came up with this as my All Time Boston team:
PG: Cousy in 1959-1960: 19.4 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 9.5 APG
SG: Pierce in 2001-2002: 26.1 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 3.2 APG, 1.9 SPG, 1.0 BPG, 2.6 3PM
SF: Bird in 1984-1985: 28.7 PPG, 10.5 RPG, 6.6 APG, 1.6 SPG, 1.2 BPG, 0.7 3PM
PF: Walker in 2000-2001: 23.4 PPG, 8.9 RPG, 5.5 SPG, 1.7 SPG, 0.6 BPG, 2.7 3PM (kept him to stretch the floor)
C: Russell in 1961-1962: 18.9 PPG, 23.6 RPG, 4.5 APG
PG2: Irving in 2018-2019: 23.8 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 6.9 APG, 1.5 SPG, 0.5 BPG, 2.6 3PM (unpopular pick, but wanted shooting)
Wing: Havlicek in 1970-1971: 28.9 PPG, 9.0 RPG, 7.5 APG
Big: McHale in 1986-1987: 26.1 PPG, 9.9 RPG, 2.6 APG, 0.5 SPG, 2.2 BPGAlso, no doubling up on players. For example, you can’t have Bird the SF and Bird the PF on the same team.

dmo21ParticipantThanks Zouldiers, but I was gonna go team by team. So this whole thread would be about Boston, and I wanted to see what everyone thought about what their All Time team would look like. Then the next thread would be about another team and on and on. So Miami will be coming up down the road (well, if this trend catches on…).
