Toronto vs Sacramento. Kings down by 3 with 10 seconds left in the game. Buddy Hield not on the floor. Can someone explain to me how this guy is a head coach in the NBA. Please let me know.

Because like most jobs in life, it’s who you know, not what you know. Luke has a great basketball reputation. Being a “disciple” of phil jackson, and coming from the great warriors system he has been given many opportunities. Nevermind the fact that he was always a very smart player, and Bill Walton’s son. There are lots of coaches who are better, but again it is who you know.

Dave Joerger and Kenny Atkinson should have zero problems finding work after this season. Coaching still matters, but it seems as though a good number of front offices in the league seem to think anyone can do it. Credit Dallas and Miami for realizing that even when they dipped there is no point in losing a good coach just because the team fell off. Now, they are back and still have top notch head coaches.

It won’t happen tho. Vlade has wanted this guy coaching. I do not know why. Luke has never been a good head coach. It really sucks. This is why some franchises can’t get out of rebuilding. They can’t find good coaching or good talent.
