Just curious what you believe this guys ceiling to be? To me, he is the best 2-way player in the draft. Still very raw offensively but I saw him go up against Anthony Edwards earlier in the year and Okoro looked like the better player. Could Okoro turn into a Kawhi type if he improves his offense? And where do you see him going in the draft, I think it’s safe to say he is a top 10 pick now.

I think he is a better college player than pro. He can be a roleplayer off the bench that is an athletic defensive high energy guy. Probably gets over drafted in the 5-15 range.

I think he’s a mid lottery to late 1st rd pick depending on how he shows in the tournament. I think he will definitely be a guy in the NBA who could be a starter some day due to his elite athleticism and defensive abilities. If his shot gets better, watch out.

I’ve only watched him play once and if I wasnt watching the game to watch him play I probablly wouldnt have even known he was playing. I probably have to watch him play more but I dont know what the hype is on this guy. ESPN had him going 3rd overall.

He sort of reminds me a young Corey maggette in terms of body type and athletic ability. Really strong and powerful athlete. Very good at drawing fouls. Obviously he likely won’t be the same type of player maggette was in the nba because that type of player isn’t really in vogue anymore. Definitely needs to continue developing his shot and overall offensive feel but the raw outline is there to be a very effective wing for a long time. Has some igoudala qualities too. He’s going to take some time to develop but should be able to be effective on defense right away. He’s clearly a lottery pick but I think patience will be key for whatever team he winds up on.

I think ESPN is obviously overhyping him, they do that a lot of times with guys who play for big schools. Pretty sure they also have Tyrese Maxey going in the top 10 or a lottery pick, while he might be…..he isn’t to me. Too small to be a 2, but I def like his motor and competitiveness.

Back to Okoro, I’ve seen some games where on the offensive end he doesn’t contribute much, I think he is still very raw there but he always brings it on defense and with that platform, I think it’s possible he turns out into a really good 2-way NBA player.

Plays alot like Justin Anderson. Needs to work on extending his range. Not much of a creator or playmaker. But his defense is his bread and butter right now. I’ve seen him as high as 3 on some mocks. And the late teens on others. He could have a Corey Brewer type of career.

What would make him a significantly different prospect than Josh Okogie?

Okogie is 6’4, Okoro is 6’6…in theory he’d be able to guard 1-4 defensively.

Okogie measured at 6’4.5″ with a 7’0″ wingspan when he went to the combine. Okoro is reportedly 6’6″ with a 6’9″ wingspan. It is not much of a functional difference. Tack on the similarities athletically and stylistically, I don’t see a difference as players when they came out.

Wingspan is great for the perimeter, just think size wise and body/athleticism wise Okoro is more skilled to guard a big man under the basket if he has to. He’s also extremely raw offensively and played with a veteran college team….I think his ceiling could be pretty high, at least higher than Okogie’s.
