OhCanada-ParticipantJust thought I’d give you guys another heads up about the next Canadian star prospect. Hes a top 2 recruit for the 2023 class which means he is just about to be getting all that buzz that guys like RJ Barrett and Andrew Wiggins got in the past. He’s being developed to play like the Lebron, Giannis, and Siakam types. He might even end up being the first player drafted straight out of highschool since they changed the rule because the NBA is likely going to change the rule by 2022. Look out.

canadabasketballisrisingParticipantHim and Mikey Williams have been lock and step as the top 2 for a few years for sure… it’s so early tho.. the same rankings have Lebron James Jr (same class) ranked just as high purely by name. Its too bad Canada doesnt have any other high propsects in the next few years until this kid.. Nehmbard and Lawson are on the bubble to be drafted, and i dont really see anyone else.

OhCanada-ParticipantI’ll bite. There is more talent and more players that will be in the NBA but this draft is definitely not gonna be loaded with Canadians for sure. Alot of players just havent gotten much oppurtunity to shine this year but to be honest this is probably alot better for their development. Look at Ignas Brazdeikis or Lougentz Dort last year, they got tons of minutes and shined but never got a chance to hang back and develop their games. Simi Shittu is in the G-League struggling to get minutes shooting 20% from three and 50% free throws. Oshea Brissett got lucky landing a spot with Toronto but despite playing decent for stretches with the main and G League team he’s mostly just struggled with his shot.
You mentioned AJ Lawson and Andrew Nembhard (who is probably going to end up a Toronto Raptor). Heres some other D1 players to keep an eye on. Also just thought I’d mention why is it that none of these kids can shoot free throws?
Marcus Carr- 6’2, PG, Sophmore, Minnesota
Carr might have the best chances of getting drafted this year as far as Canadians go. He’s right there with Lawson and Nembhard. Hes had a good season with Minnesota after sitting out a year transferring from Pitt. He will most likely stay at least one more year to polish his game unless he has a great end to the year. Right now his FG% is just way too low.Jaelin Llewellyn – 6’2, PG, Sophmore, Princeton
Playing at Princeton so he will almost definitely be a 4 year guard. He is starting to become more consistent shooting the ball. When that comes around he should get draft consideration.Jahcobi Neath – 6’4, G, Freshman, Wake Forest
Neath is alot like Lougentz Dort in the fact the he is great athlete and already has an NBA body. Right now he is stuck behind two senior guards at Wake Forest so he isn’t getting any minutes but expect him to blow up next year for Wake.Addison Patterson- 6’6, G/F, Freshman, Oregon
Played on the National team this year and is gonna be a star for Oregon in the future. As far as next years freshman’s go look out for Karim Mane. He probably isnt ranked right now as a top prospect or even a 4 or 5 star guy but he’s a 6’5 gaurd playing at Marquette that has all the talent to make the NBA. If Markus Howard goes pro you will see alot of him early.

canadabasketballisrisingParticipantI haven’t heard of Neath, but I know of the rest. Look at what i said tho, all those players are at best in the same lane as Nehmard (most not really). In terms of Lottery talent like Barrett i dont see anyone. Patterson was projected like that but hasnt played his freshmen year yet really.
