So who’s your snubs? I actually think its pretty good I wouldnt need to swap anyone. Maybe make a case for Dinwiddie, Booker, Towns, Derozan, Brown and I know alot of people wanted to see Rose there as a tribute kinda deal but I think they got it right this year. Did I miss anyone?

Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold on just a second. Over Lowry? You cant take out Lowry for someone thats not even in the playoffs theres so much wrong with that. Hes playing the best basketball of his career on the 2nd best team in the East and he just won a championship. His coach is gonna be representing team Giannis. He makes the team before alot of guys in the East like Tatum and Simmons for sure.

I’ll admit I forgot Beal in my snubs but I wouldnt add him, especially if guys like Lilliard got snubbed in the past and Booker didnt make it this year.

And yeah this format absolutely is terrible. Is there anyone who actually prefers it? Also think there should be 15 allstars now since rosters are 15 players.

I think Allstar should be an indvidual award over team award. Obviously coaches disagree.

I thought Beal and Kyrie would get in instead of Lowry and Tatum. I didn’t think Kyrie deserved it, so glad he missed out. I actually wouldn’t have picked Lowry though, there’s a few guys that were just as worthy for mine, namely Jaylen Brown and Beal.

In the West, I originally chose KAT and PG, and thought only one of CP, Westbrook or Ingram would get in. They all got in, so that’s fair enough. The others right there for mine were DeRozan, Morant and Booker. Will be a tough team to break into when PG, KAT, Curry, Zion and Klay are healthy.

The untimed 4th quarter sounds like an interesting development.

I like how they did it. No reserves from a god awful team. Lillard, ingram, are the only rederves with a losing team record.Should give Beal and Booker motivation to improve their teams! I’ve never seen a player avg 28ppg and get snubbed tho. Historical. Silver is a good commissioner

I think Booker and Beal should have definitely gotten in. I think Booker over Ingram easy, and I think that will be made more obvious come all star break with Zion getting back into the flow. The only problem I see is who gets their spot taken by Beal? The answer is realistically none of them. If i had to pick one, it would be Bam but if Bam was in that same situation, would Bam put up better numbers than Beal? Probably.

The coaches voted these guys in. Coaches value the best players on winning teams which is why this happened the way that it did. But Mitchell should absolutely be in, especially with the struggles of Conley and the Jazz still being as good as they should have been with him struggling. Chris Paul should be in too, the Thunder are winning, he is closing games, and keeping a team that would be the 14th seed in the West without him, alive. Like if the Thunder traded Paul to MIlwaukee and got Bledsoe back in a deal, easy 14th seed team. Lowry is a player like Gobert where a lot of their impact doesnt turn up in the stat sheet. KAT and PG have been too hurt or else it would make sense, and the same goes with Kyrie.

I’m surprised that Ingram made it over Devin Booker. I’m surprised the coaches voted any player whose team is below .500 to the All Star game. In the past it seemed they always rewarded players on winning teams to All Star reserve spots.

Butler have been listed as a guard and starting in the East. Young might have the flashier highlights and bigger stats, but his defense is awful and his team is terrible. Butler was clearly the more impactful and deserving starter, plus he plays a large percentage of his mins at the 2 anyway. I don’t really have a huge problem with young making the team, but not as a starter. I would have put both Simmons and Lowry over young as starters. The rest of the east team I am fine with. Beals numbers are deserving, but his team is awful and I couldn’t really say he deserves to be in over any of the guards that were picked.
In the west, the only pick I would take some exception to is Westbrook. I would have took Booker instead. Westbrook’s numbers are still extremely good and he would be difficult to leave off from a fan perspective, but his outside shooting and defense are huge liabilities. Booker is just having a more efficient and better season, even though he probably gets penalized for his team being out of the playoffs.

think you’re showing a bit of a bias there @OhCanada- being adamant Lowry should get in and that others don’t know how good he is. I don’t see any outrageous claims here. followed Lowry his whole career. I thought he was drafted too low, watched him bounce around in younger years in Memphis, Houston.. glad he finally ended up finding a home and becoming an all star. He’s had a fantastic career, all star and champion. The Raptors have been better than expected this year, no doubt. But, other players are playing as well or better. Van Vleet has even covered Lowry’s absences and played just as well as he has. It’s reasonable for someone to hold a different opinion on this. I actually think Lowry is a good chance to get traded, but it’ll be hard work finding a trade partner for that deal.

Yes clearly I am biased ill give you that but that does not change the fact that Im right about this. Throughout Lowry’s career I’ve been very critical on his performances and leadership but over the past two years he’s been amazing and he really isnt the same player as he was in the Derozan days. I just dont think people have watched him enough to recognize the growth in his game.

The guys defense is incredibly underrated especially now that he does not guard the teams primary ballhandler. Other than on ball defense he really is just as good if not better than guys like Marcus Smart and Patrick Beverley on that side of the court and it really goes unrecognized which is frustrating as a fan of his. He is 2nd in the league with charges drawn with 21 behind only Montrezl Harrell who has played more games and you cant post him up. I dont recall seeing someone score on him in the post I would love to see some sort of advanced stats on how many times players tried posting him up and the success of those post ups. He also stops so many 2 on 1 fast breaks its ridiculous he just knows how to elevate straight up with his hands straight and challenge at the rim. Also he was averaging a block every other game before I most recent stretch where he hasnt been getting blocks, he went like 5 games straight with a block and hes barely 6’0 feet tall.

I get that other people are playing well but theres no way you can make a case for them replacing Lowry instead of Simmons at the very least. Hes just a much better player and the 76ers would be a much better team if you replaced Simmons with Lowry, Torontos record is better and hes the reigning champ.

But to each their own. If you took all these things into consideration already and still think Lowry shouldnt be there than thats cool but he’s been one of the best players in the league this year and he could easily be scoring more to show out like other guys that didnt make the cut but his team wouldnt be as good.

I’m more excited to see Gobert in the allstar game! Its needed some defense for years! I’m all for Rudy gobert getting dunked on and blocking shots. I think it’ll make the game a lot more exciting
