holefillers1ParticipantClosing in on the half way point of the season and the Sixers are sitting in the 6th seed. Two things this team can’t do, first is score off the bounce. It’s not going to end well in tight games and the playoffs when no player on this team can take the ball to the rack and score, or at least get to the free throw line. The combination of Simmons and Embiid is never going to mesh with Ben’s inability to develop a jumper or even be aggressive on the offensive end . When Brett Brown puts Simmons in the low block he caters to the player. This also pushes Embiid out to the perimeter where he becomes less effective. In addition the Sixers don’t run PnR sets. These sets would help get Tobias Harris and Josh Richardson rolling to the rim. Instead they are forced to dribble drive where neither player is at his best. I would consider trading Ben Simmons for Bradley Beal and Davis Bertans. Or maybe San Antonio for Derozen and Murray.

holefillers1ParticipantMy post got cut in half. My point is this team is at a point where they need a coach making in game adjustments like beating the full court press or scoring against a zone defense. Brown is a players coach how has a system he deploys. He can’t fix Embiid and Simmons poor fit but he can make life easier on the rest of the team with PnR. It’s probably over for Brett Brown as Elton Brand will not trade major pieces again without first trying a different HC.

OhCanada-ParticipantI’ve been watching Brett Brown get outcoached for a while now. I think because in the 76ers current situation they need to try to find a new coach. Old habits die young, Simmons and Embiid are still at the young stage in their development where if they can get someone in there to instill a new approach it could make a big difference. Obviously it hasnt worked with Brown coaching Simmons and Embiid what difference would it make if he was coaching Holiday and Embiid or Derozan and Embiid. Not saying those are legit trade rumors or options Im just saying they need to mix it up.

r377ParticipantThey should still do well in the playoffs. Richardson has been injured a bit this season, Furkan Korkmaz has finally been given some playing time.
Along with some new players they just need time to gel and mesh

220ParticipantI would prefer to see Brett Brown get replaced at this point. He doesn’t make in game adjustments and he seems unable to challenge his top players to make them better.

holefillers1ParticipantI can’t explain it. They lose Matisse Thybulle for two weeks and they go on a run. Bottom line is I do t really know what I am talking about.lol
