I know he prefers the "4" position but this team is never going to be the best version of themselves with AD on the floor next to a traditional center who can’t space the floor. The lebron-AD pick and roll has the potential to be one of the most deadly weapons the league, but only if you surround it with the right personnel (three capable shooters who can space the floor). You can’t run it with McGee or Dwight clogging the lane. Playing the 4 also takes him away from the basket on defense, which neutralizes his rebounding and shot-blocking abilities.
AD needs to realize that he will make the game easier for himself and everyone else by committing to being the full-time 5 and Vogel and the coaching staff need to convince him. It’s the only way this team has a realistic chance to win a title.
