Gonzaga basketball has reportedly received the signature of Lithuanian center Domantas Sabonis.

Rumors have surrounded Sabonis as he has narrowed down his choice of schools, but according to Daily Basketball, Sabonis to Gonzaga is "virtually certain."

If this report holds true, Gonzaga will be bringing in a top-tier talent who could bolster an already strong frontcourt.

Sabonis, who stands at 6'10" and weighs 209 pounds, would add some much needed depth to a talented, but thin frontcourt.

As a current member of Unicaja Malaga, a Spanish club basketball team, Sabonis has scored 46 points and pulled down 34 rebounds in 160 total minutes of action.

Sabonis also participated in the Fiba Under-18 World Championship where he averaged 14 points and 11.4 rebounds per game.  This included a 22-point, 22-rebound performance against Serbia which truly showcased his potential as both a scorer and interior presence.

Securing a player of Sabonis' stature from the international scene is yet another example of Gonzaga's excellence in international recruiting efforts.

Gonzaga's most recent success story has been Polish center Przemek Karnowski.  The big man out of Torun averaged 10.4 PPG and 7.1 RPG this past season, and many believe he is poised to break out this next season.

Integrating Sabonis into a frontcourt that already boasts Karnowski, Kyle Wiltjer and Ryan Edwards will only add to the dynamic nature of the Bulldogs' offense.

Two things jump out when viewing film on Sabonis.  The first is that he has incredible footwork and technique around the basket.  The second is that he will need to add a lot of strength to his frame to compete at the collegiate level.

Nobody is expecting Sabonis to light it up in his first season, but the potential for him to be a true impact player for the Bulldogs is undeniable.
